One of the country's booming industries, the Pet Grooming and Supplies Industry, has everyone amazed when it survived the recession. The 2009 year-end report shows that sales on pet-related products and services increased by a small percentage amidst economic downsize. American Pet Products Association (APPA) reported that in 2008 a total of $3.4 billion was spent on pet grooming services. The association is optimistic that there will be an increase of sales by 6% in the following years.
This data reflects that there are a lot of responsible pet owners in the U.S. They include their pets in their daily activities as part of the family. Some pet owners pamper their pets in spas, and bring them wherever they go. Although there are a number of pet owners who spoil their cats and dogs in pet salons, there are others who want to do their own pet grooming. They don't only spend quality time with their pets, they get extra savings as well. Here are a list of items you need to prepare for an enjoyable home pet grooming.
Basic Tools
A pet grooming salon day wouldn't be complete without the following basic tools:

Note: Don't use grooming tools primarily designed for people. Stick to pet grooming tools to achieve desired professional look.
Proper Set-up
In order to make the grooming experience calm and relaxing, be prepared each time you groom your pet. Make it a habit to be organized and prepared. Consider buying a separate tool box for your pet's items. After using the grooming tools, clean and securely store them. Store them in an area away from children's reach such an overhead shelf.
